A return visit after previously coming on 5 May 2024. We had Richard and Liz with us and travelled by car having previously had a failed attempt to travel by bus.
The village was lovely again and wandered a few streets we hadn't visited before.
The garden was nice but actually was probably nicer in the spring with the fresh growth and more varied colour from bulbs. By the end of august was beginning to look at bit past best in places.
Organiser and Planner for a Sprintelope at Dalkeith starting from the Community Schools Campus. A pretty tiring day setting up and running the starts. Helped by Paul Caban on the SI. Seemed to get pretty good reviews on a very pleasant evening.
The fourth race in the Scottish Championships this year was my biggest running challenge of the year. A 9 munro circuit from Glenshee Ski Centre. All hills I've done before but definitely a big challenge to get round. Form in the run up to the event wasn't great and on the day the legs were weaker than they might have been with fatigue setting in quite early.
The last two and half hours after the road crossing were all walking as the legs wrecked by that stage. The long climb to. Carn Aosda was exceptionally slow and difficult.
It was a nice day though with great weather and the goal was never more that to just finish this one.
