Big Weekend Orienteering
First orienteering in ages on Friday Night at Kings Buildings for some tricky urban orienteering in the dark. Went pretty well. I went slow with a bad knee but made it round fine. Very enjoyable.
Saturday wasn't so good for the street event in Edinburgh old town. Knee was already stiff at the start and the course was a bit of a slog. Reduced to walking pace from around half way. Decided to miss the following day in Holyrood park.

PILGRIMER - A reimaging of Joni Mitchell
Great show at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Half One was a reimagining in Scots of the Joni Mitchell album Hejira. Half Two was a choice selection of Joni Mitchell favourites by a great collection of musicians and singers. Kathryn Joseph as amazing in her version of Both Sides Now. Karine Polwart, Rose Cousins, Olivia Chaney, Julie Fowlis and Annie Grace were all excellent. An amazing night of music.
Enjoyed a nice but quick tea at De Maggios and a trip to the Kelvingrove on Sunday morning.

Arthurs Seat
I've not been out walking much lately with my sore knee. Feeling a bit better headed for a gentle walk up Arthurs Seat on a cold and grey afternoon. It was more pleasant than expected although didn't do the knee any favours.

Great Winter Run
Ran in the Great Winter Run this morning. Great event with the biggest entry ever of around 3000. I'm still nursing a bad knee but physio recommended doing some running so I'm doing around 30 mins per week. Race went pretty well with some minor discomfort in knee and very tight calfs. Finished in just under 30 minutes.

Cycle to Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies
Nice cycle this morning starting at the Kelpies along the canal to the Falkirk Wheel and then on to Falkirk High and then back the way I came. Stopped for coffee and scone at the new visitor centre at the Kelpies which is fairly recently opened. Enjoyed taking a bit of time at the Falkirk Wheel. 15.6 miles.

Cycle to Clackmannan, Alloa and Tillicoultry
Got a new book of 250 traffic free cycles. I tried this one first. The weather wasn't great but the route was nice. Some good historic towers and lots of beer and whisky barrels.
