Sosol4 & Ice Skating

Colin went off to West Calder for the first SOSOL event of the new year. After quite a long break from orienteering it was amazing how bad you could get. Got very lost and ran about 1 km down the wrong river !

Cherry, Max and Hannah went to Murrayfield to ice skate.

Cardrona

Colin and Cherry enjoyed a weekend away at Cardrona near Peebles whilst Les looked after the kids in Edinburgh. The children went to Gorgie City Farm and to Deep Sea World. Colin and Cherry enjoyed some good food, a nice swim and gym and walks in Cardrona Forest and Cadesmuir Hill.

Great Winter Run

Dad and I went to Arthur's Seat. Dad did the Great Winter Run and I did the Junior Great Winter Run. My course was 1 1/2 miles long. I did quite well and took about 9 minutes. Dad's course was 5.2km long and he took 25minutes. It was good weather but very windy. Dad forgot his camera so we didn't get any photos. Some of my friends were there and one of them came sixth.

Glas Maol

Max made it to the top of his 11th Munro by climbing Glas Maol. Conditions weren't great with fairly strong winds and visibility rarely extending beyond about 100 m. Good fun nevertheless.

Hannah and Cherry went ice-skating at Murrayfield - and for a long cycle ride !

Greenmantle Dash

Second race of the year at Broughton. Fabulous sunny day for the muddiest, wettest, steepest shortest race of the year. The river was in full spate, the fields particularly muddy and the hill slippy with the wet. A wee bit faster than last year coming in 69 of 119 runners.
