Spring

Spring finally arrived with temperatures increasing on Sunday to double figures.

Colin, Max & Hannah went out to Vogrie for some non-competitive orienteering and then fun at the adventure playground.

Colin ran in the Edinburgh Half Marathon on Sunday morning getting round in 1 hr 47 minutes - beating his personal best by just over two minutes.

Dean Park Kilmarnock

Another orienteering outing. Hannah had another go at reading the map herself and came in first on the White Course. Max did brilliantly well on a difficult and lengthy orange coming in 3rd place of 10. Colin did OK on the blue coming 10 of 25 on a fast, open course.

Dinner

Frank and Meenu and Tim and Laurie came round for dinner. Max played a couple of fantastic pieces on the harp - including his own composition.

Stobo Castle

Spent the weekend away at Stobo Castle near Peebles enjoying some good food and relaxation. Leslie looked after the children for the day taking them to the Mining Museum and the new exhibitions at the National Museum of Scotland.

Dalbeattie & SOL1

Left the snows of Edinburgh to visit the Galloway coast on Saturday. We visited the Moffat Toffee Shop which was the highlight of the year for Hannah. Then went to the RSPB reserve of Mersehead and walking along the mudflats and beach. Later went to the pretty beach of Rockcliffe.

On Sunday we did a Scottish League Orienteering event. Hannah did brilliant by map reading on her own for the first time. Max did very well as well. Colin made everyone else feel superior.

World Book Day

Max and Hannah dressed up as their favourite fictional characters for World Book Day.

We invite our readers to guess who they are (post a comment).
